Spring term 2019

Abbey House Trip

February 2019

On Wednesday 7th February, Year 1 visited Abbey House Museum. We explored the museum looking at the Victorian streets and then we attended a Victorian toy workshop.

Here are some pictures of our day.

January 2019

Over the last few weeks in Maths we have been learning about place value. We started off our learning by exploring the outdoor area for twigs and using them to split into tens and ones. We then used part models to say what teen number we had made.

Here is some pictures of our work and exploring the outdoor area.

Autumn Term 2018

Geography Topic

This half term in Geography, we are looking at geographical features of different places. We have investigated the seaside and talked about the different things you would see there. We also learnt some new words such as harbour, pier, bay, island etc.

We then made a big seaside picture as a class.

Here is our work.

Trip to the Woodlands

For the last few weeks, year 1 have explored the woodlands.

Here is some the things we have got up to.

  • Went on a bear hunt to find the bear's friends.
  • Made the bears delicious bear food!
  • Made maps to help the bears get back to school.
  • Created shelters for the bears to stay in.

Here are some pictures from the last two weeks.
