Welcome to Year 1...
A warm welcome to all the Year 1 children and parents. We hope that this page gives you an insight into what happens in Year 1.
1GW: Monday (outdoor) Tuesday (indoor)
1HH: Tuesday (outdoor) Friday (indoor)
Please can you ensure that your child brings the appropriate outdoor P.E kit. With temperatures decreasing, a fleece or a hoody, a polo shirt and jogging bottoms will help to keep your child warm whilst engaging in physical activities outdoors. A suitable coat, gloves and a hat will also be required as winter approaches.
It will also be greatly appreciated if all clothing/belongings that are brought into school are labelled clearly with your child’s name.

Harry Potter Day
We've had an excellent time celebrating Harry Potter Day!
In Year 1 we have:
Thank-you to all the adults who made today possible with some amazing outfits and for your support towards the school library
This half term, we visited the beautiful Abbey House Musemn in Leeds. This was related to our History topic Houses and Homes. We started off learning about toys from the past then looked at different artefacts that you would find in a home from the Victorian times.
Have a look at the fun we had exploring the museum...
Languages day - September 2017
On Tuesday 26th September, Year 1 came into school in the colours of the French flag and learnt lots of different things about France and the French language.
The children learnt how to say animals and numbers in French. They also had opportunity to taste some French food including croissants and pain au chocolat.
Here are some pictures of Year 1 in action throughout the day.
Poetry day- 05.10.17
On Thursday 5th October, Year 1 children celebrated 'Poetry day' by creating poem about Autumn leaves.
Year 1 have been learning about weather and season change so we decided to focus our poem around the season of Autumn.
Here is the children in action performing the poem
The children also investigated the different colours in Autumn leaves and then painted their own leaf by colouring mixing the primary colours.
