Year 1 Homework
Welcome to the Year 1 Homework page!
Your child has a homework book which will be sent home every Friday with a new task, plus some key words to learn. They should return their book every Thursday so we can get the new homework stuck in. We encourage all children to complete their homework as it is an extension of what they have been learning in the classroom and will help develop their confidence in learning. There will be a range of tasks; maths, English/writing, topic based activities plus projects and art activities too. Whilst we ask that you support your child with their homework, we understand that it may not always be done and advise you and your child not to worry if homework hasn't been completed.
They will also be sent home each Friday with a new reading book. Here is a link to some comprehension questions you could ask whilst reading with your child.

The weather is changing and it’s definitely starting to feel more like Autumn. Your homework this week is to go on a search for signs of Autumn. You could write a list of the things you find, collect items and make an Autumnal picture or even get crafty and make something with the things you find!
This week we have been focusing on the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Your task is to build a bridge (out of anything you like!) and retell the story. You could send us a picture on dojo or print one off and bring it into school. Remember the repeated phrases from the story and to use expression when the troll jumps up from under the bridge!
