Remembrance Day Service

 

On the 11th November we remembered the brave soldiers who fought for their country. We held a Remembrance Service in the playground and children sang songs, played instruments and read poems. Charlotte Gibson played the cornet and Thomas Gall played the bagpipes, they both gave a fantastic and moving performance. During the service children also placed clay poppies, which they made in their art lessons, on the banking.

The children's author Hilary Robinson also attended. She spent the day with the children, reading stories and sharing her experiences. Darrell Keenan, a serving soldier, was also invited. He read a very emotive poem which was enjoyed by everyone.
